Today marked the beginning of the deferred action party for undocumented immigrant youth in the United States. Undocumented immigrants between ages 15 and 30 who meet certain requirements (no felony convictions, etc.) can apply for a two-year work authorization that will temporarily protect them from deportation and give them the opportunity to get legal work with more protections and benefits. As many as 1.7 million people may be eligible for this assistance. The cost for a deferred action request is $465.
